Modernizing Healthcare Technology: How New Elevation Streamlined Operations and Met Critical Deadlines

January 2026

A healthcare provider operating multiple clinics in the Maryland area approached New Elevation with a clear need: to modernize the website and automate key integrations to improve operational efficiency and patient experience. The client required a cost-effective, timely solution that addressed both technical and healthcare-specific requirements.

The Challenge

The client's existing website, originally implemented nearly two decades ago, no longer reflected a modern digital experience. Core processes, including integration with the Athena patient portal and payment processing through Square, were incomplete, leaving staff to handle time-intensive manual work. This created challenges during high-volume periods, especially at the start of the year when new patients were registering, and services were in peak demand.

The client needed a solution that could:

  • Update the website with a modern design and intuitive user experience

  • Automate critical integrations to reduce manual tasks

  • Ensure the highest level of protection for patient health data

  • Meet a tight project deadline ahead of the busy season

Our Approach

New Elevation assembled a focused, agile team that included a front-end developer, a back-end developer, a QA specialist, and a project manager. While the team's core expertise traditionally centered around commerce and front-end implementations, the project required expansion into healthcare-specific integrations and heightened data protections.

The team modernized the website with an updated design and content management system, creating a cleaner, more intuitive user experience. At the same time, New Elevation implemented automated integrations with the Athena patient portal and Square payment platform, replacing manual processes with streamlined system communication. Because the project operated within the healthcare industry, additional safeguards were incorporated to ensure the secure handling of protected health information.

Despite early discovery challenges and the complexity of working within a healthcare ecosystem, the team collaborated closely to solve integration hurdles and maintain forward momentum. Through careful coordination and technical adaptability, the project was completed ahead of the client's critical year-end deadline.

The Results

The updated website launched successfully before the start of the client's peak registration period, preventing another season of heavy manual intervention. Work that previously required seven or eight staff members was reduced to one or two team members overseeing automated processes, significantly improving operational efficiency. The client expressed strong satisfaction with the outcome and signed a continued support agreement to maintain performance and stability moving forward. Beyond the technical achievements, the project demonstrated New Elevation's ability to stretch existing expertise into a new industry, apply enhanced security considerations, and deliver high-quality results within a tight timeframe.
